Nice to see that Barn Farm is still going strong..!

I drove past at the weekend with my family and explained to them how i used to camp here with my parents over 30+ years ago.

We used to have such fun and relaxing times staying here.

The site was only on the one field that i remember and was mainly just tents at the time. (Looks very busy now..!)

You could not miss our tent, as it was over 27 foot long, due to my mother extending the middle section of what was already a very big tent at the time.

I remember in particular fetching fresh milk every morning in these plastic bags and also feeding the animals on the farm and helping out with some of the farm tasks from time to time.

There used to be a little pond at the top of the field with lots of tadpoles in it, which looks like it has since gone...what a shame..!

The walks around this area are nothing short of spectacular and the beauty is second to none..!

I hope to bring my family to this site in the near future, having been converted to caravans by my wife and spending many holidays on caravan club sites.

Just not the same as the good old fashioned tent approach.

Thanks again Barn Farm for all of those many happy holidays that my sister and i sepnt at your site with our parents.

Cheers

Martin

Decided to visit after reading the entry in Cool Camping Kids. We were trying our new tent out for the first time with our 5 year old and 18 month old. The site is located in the most beautiful spot and we were very impressed with the ability to pitch where you choose (when it's quiet). The facilities were excellent including electric shower rooms large enough for the family to shower at the same time. The people were very friendly and with a small toddler the access to the games room TV early in the morning would have been a God send if we had needed it (we did need it in France earlier in the summer but there were no such facilities). My daughter loved the peacocks and the other animals around in the adjacent fields and my son found lots of places to explore on his own so he felt he had some independence. There is a quarry nearby and it does operate 24 hours which from the field we were in was a little noisy at night but this was by no means enough to spoil our visit (the kids slept through it completely). We intend to visit again at the next opportunity in the spring for longer this time. Thanks for a great few days. 10/10

JUST SPENT FRI/SAT NIGHT AT BARN FARM. I HAVE ALREADY SUGGESTED THIS SITE TO 3 PEOPLE SINCE WE GOT BACK. REALLY GOOD SITE, BEAUTIFUL LOCATION, VERY SAFE ATMOSPHERE (2 TODDLERS IN TOW!) TOILETS WERE KEPT SPOTLESS BUT ALTHOUGH SHOWERS WERE GOOD THE FLOORS COULD HAVE BEEN CLEANED A BIT MORE....MY THOUGHTS WERE KEEP A BUCKET AND MOP IN EACH CUBICLE FOR THE LAST USER TO GIVE FLOOR A ONCE OVER??? I KNOW I WOULD RATHER DO THAT THAN HAVE TO STAND IN THE WET DIRTY FLOOR! A SHELF OR SOMEWHERE TO PUT YOUR STUFF WOULD HELP TOO IN EACH CUBICLE AND THEY ARE BIG ENOUGH FOR BABY CHANGE UNITS (WHICH WOULD HELP TO PUT YOUR CHILD SOMEWHERE OTHER THAN WET DIRTY FLOOR WHILE YOUR TRYING TO GET THEM DRY!)OTHER THAN THAT THOUGH IT WAS FAB AND WOULD DEFINATELY RETURN IF WE ARE IN THAT AREA AGAIN. 8/10

well run and very relaxed the views were lovely and a nice stroll into the village. This site is suitable for all ages and we will definately
